Finding Canvas
Visit the Davidson-Davie Community College website
Select the orange Current Students tab and then Canvas.
You can bookmark/save our Canvas URL, https://davidsondavie.instructure.com/login/saml for easy access to your coursework.
Tip:
The Current Students tab on the Davidson-Davie website is a great way to get links to many great resources like Gmail, StormTrac, Starfish, and more!
Navigating in Canvas
Select the email box and type your school email address.
Select the password box and type your school password.
Select login.
Select Dashboard on the left to see your favorited courses. Note that if you have not selected favorites, your currently enrolled courses will automatically show in your dashboard.
To see other courses, go to Courses.
Tips:
All important school-wide announcements will be shown at the top of your dashboard page! This includes everything from campus closures to upcoming site maintenance.
If you have not set-up/activated your Stormtrac account, you need to do this prior to logging in.
Can’t log in? Visit https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/ to reset your password or find your username. Email password@davidsondavie.edu with a personal email if you get stuck.
Navigating in a Canvas Course
In every course, you will be able to find your Home Page, Modules, and Grades on the Course Navigation bar on the left side of your screen.
Home Page
The Home Page will house information you may need for your course such as:
- Course name
- Course meeting hours and location (if applicable)
- Instructor contact information
- Instructor office hours
Some instructors may also include links to things such as their syllabus, course schedule, modules, and more! If not, you can access this information in the Modules tab on the navigation bar you see on the left.
Modules
In the Modules, you will find a Start Here Module at the top. This will contain your:
- Syllabus
- Course Schedule
- Course Entry Quiz
Normally, the first assignment that will be due in your courses is called the Course Entry Quiz. Complete this as soon as possible! Not completing this entry assignment in time could result in being dropped the course due to inactivity.
Grades
You'll find your grades for assignments and your overall course here.
