How to Use the Logitech Laser Presentation Remote


The Logitech Laser Presentation Remote is a great tool to use to take control of your presentation from anywhere in the room! Have the freedom to walk around to make your lecture or event more interactive while still being able to control your slides and point to items on the screen without being stuck behind a podium.

Setup With Your Computer

The remote sets up quickly with your computer using a USB cordless receiver.

  1. Remove the USB receiver from the bottom of the remote by pulling on the shiny portion underneath the Logitech logo. The receiver will slide out of this slot.
  2. Plug the cordless receiver into a USB port on your computer.
  3. Turn the remote on by sliding the switch on the left side of the remote from off to on.


Features

This remote is equipped with 6 features.

  1. Laser Pointer

    • Press and hold the button below the screen that has a vertical green stripe on it to use the laser.
    • Tip: Do not point this in eyes as it can cause vision damage.
  2. Slide Forward and Back

    • The two arrow buttons below the laser pointer button allow you to go back and forward in your presentation slides. Press the left arrow to go backward and the right arrow to go forward.
  3. Launch Slide Show

    • Depending on the software you are using, pressing the button with the play button in a rectangle at the bottom left of the button grouping will let you launch your slideshow to presentation mode. Pressing it again should take you out of presentation mode.
  4. Black Screen

    • Depending on the software you are using, pressing the button with the empty rectangle at the bottom right of the button grouping will allow you to turn your presentation screen black.
    • Tip: This can be great to use during brainstorming sessions or at the end of the session if you wish to stop sharing your screen.
  5. Timer Set

    • This button is at the top of the remote on the right side of it and has 0:00 on it. It allows you to set a timer for your presentation.
    • This button also lets you clear the time setting (see Using The Timer below).
  6. Timer Play/Pause

    • This button is below your timer button that has a play and pause icon on it. It allows you to start and pause your timer.

Using The Timer

The timer is a great tool for being able to pace yourself with presentations without checking a clock. With a silent reminder, you can set it and forget about it!

  1. Press the Timer Set Button to set the timer. After pressing this, the time should begin flashing.
  2. To decide how long your timer will last, press the slide forward and slide back buttons.
    • Holding these buttons will accelerate the displayed time on the screen while you are selecting.
  3. Once you have the time you want to use, press the timer set button again. The numbers will stop flashing.
  4. To start your timer, press the Timer Play/Pause button. To pause your timer, press this button again.
  5. The remote will vibrate to let you know you are getting close to the end of the time with 5, 2, and 0 minutes left. Once it is past time, the timer will begin counting up.
  6. Holding the Timer Set button for 3 seconds clears the time setting.

Using The Range Indicator

The remote has a range of 100 feet and will indicate the signal strength on its screen.

  1. Pressing the slide forward, slide back, launch slide show, or black screen buttons will show the signal strength which can be found at the top of the screen.
  2. If there is no signal, the range symbol will blink. The stronger the signal, the more lines you will see when the symbol shows without blinking.

Common Issues

Here are some common issues to troubleshoot.

  1. Are the batteries still good?
  2. Is the power switch on?
  3. Is the receiver plugged in?
  4. Is the range okay?
  5. Try restarting your computer.
