Overview

YuJa can be used to record your computer screen only, webcam only, audio only, or a combination of video and audio.

  1. Open YuJa
  2. Choose "Create Recording" at the top of the screen.
  3. A box pops up with a drop down bar. Choose “Record from your Windows PC or Mac” and click “Start.” 
  4. A new box should appear on your screen. If it does not, look for the YuJa icon on your computer toolbar and click on it to open it.
  5. You can adjust the recording settings in the menu on the left side of the YuJa Software Capture screen.The Software Capture screen with the menu denoted by a red rectangle. 
  6. Expand the “Video” tab to choose your video source. Toggle your webcam or external video source on or off using the teal and white slider.The video settings with a red box around the teal and white slider to turn the webcam off.
  7.  For more options, do the following:The options for adjusting quality or screen orientation with numbers that correspond to the explanations in the text.
    1. Click "Advanced Options".
    2. Change the resolution to the desired number.
    3. Change the quality to the desired quality.
    4. Change the video orientation to suit your preference.
  8. Under “Audio,” choose the microphone you want to use or toggle it off using the teal and white slider.
  9. Under “Screen,” choose your screen or toggle it off using the teal and white slider. To choose the screen you want to record use the following options:The Display Settings for the YuJa Software Capture with numbers that correspond to the explanations in the text.
    1. When recording your screen, there are options to record your whole screen or just a portion of the screen. To access these settings, click on “Display Settings”.
    2. Choose the radio button that corresponds to Single, Duo, or Selected Area according to your preference.
      1. To record a portion of your screen, click the “Capture Selected Area” radio button and then click the “Select Area” button.
      2. Your screen will appear to have a blue lens over it. Go to the portion of your screen that you want to record. 
      3. Click your mouse and start dragging it around the recording area. You’ll notice that the blue lens becomes a blue outline around the area.
      4. Let go of your mouse button and the Display Setting box reappears. You can choose to “Edit Selected Area,” “Cancel,” or “Save”
    3. Use the drop down box to choose which monitor you want to record if you have multiple monitors and only want to record one. 
  10. Before starting your recording, you may want to add a title to your video and save the recording to a specific folder using the box and icons at the top of the recording interface.Red boxes point out the location of the Title and Folder options.
  11. Click "Start" to begin the recording.
  12. During recording, a small menu of items will appear at the bottom of your screen. You can pause, stop, or switch the audio source using this menu.
  13. When finished recording your video, click the stop (“Finish”) button on the menu that appears in the lower right corner.
  14. A box pops up that says “Your Capture Session Has Ended.” Choose to “Delete” the recording or “Save” it.
  15. To access your video, go back to your Yuja Media Library. 
  16. The video will take a few minutes to process before you can share or edit it. After it processes, YuJa will begin to automatically caption the video. You’ll receive an email once the captions are complete.
