You can add YouTube videos to your YuJa media library making it possible to track student viewing analytics or create a quiz by adding questions to the video.

Add a YouTube video to your media library

In your media library, select the "Upload" button. This will open a pop up box that lets you choose the method of upload.

The pop up box has an option for link which lets you input the link to the video for uploading.

Choose the option for "Link" which will open up a box for you to paste in the link to the video. Make sure you give the video a title. You will see a message warning you that some functions will be disabled because YuJa is not able to duplicate all of YouTube's controls. If you are okay with that, you can select "Yes". Now, you're ready to click "Start Upload".

The video will be added to your media library where it can be used like your other videos except that you can't edit it.

Captions

Videos that you create in YuJa are automatically captioned, but that doesn't happen for YouTube videos. Unfortunately, turning captions on and off is one of the buttons that YuJa is currently unable to bring over from YouTube so you need to let students know that they can turn captions on and off with the "c" button on their keyboard. There is currently no workaround for students watching on their phones, so please make sure you communicate this information in your instructions to students when you ask them to watch a video from YouTube.
