Click on the attempts to view all submissions to open up the main results page

From the main results page, you will be able to see:

  • how many attempts were made
  • how long a student took to complete the quiz
  • individual answers

You may have more than one page of attempts to view (Marker B).  You can adjust the number of students, or attempts to appear on each page (Marker A)

You can manually grade and override points two main ways:

  • Thorough the main results tab
  • Through the manually grade items subpage

Grade Through the Main Results Tab

If you have a question that needs manual grading, the grade column will not include a score, but the words "not yet graded."  This is a hyperlink for you to click on and be redirected to a new page that covers all of the student answers.  From there, navigate to the questions that need grading by scrolling to the question or click on the specific number located on the right-hand side.

Questions that have been automatically graded will appear green (full credit), yellow (partial credit) or red (zero credit).  Description pages and questions that need manual grading will appear in gray.

Or, from the main results tab, you can scroll to the specific question(s) that are identified as "Requires grading" for the specific question to open in a pop-up for you to read the response, provide comments, and assign points.

You will be redirected to a new page to see:

  1. The questions you've created that need manual grading
  2. Which questions still need to be graded
  3. Which questions have already been graded

You can select the hyperlink that will take you to a new page to see all of the questions that need to be graded.  The default setting is to show four students per page.  You can adjust this depending on personal preference or however many questions need to be graded.  Once you make the change, this will be your new setting every time the next time you go to manually grade.

You will be able to then provide comments and points.

Overriding Points

If you wish to override points already provided automatically, you can do this, again, from the main results page or from the manual grading subpage.

Overriding a grade from the main results page is simple enough if you are overriding points for a student or two.  Every question is hyperlinked.

However, if you wish to override a grade for an automatically graded item for many students, you may want to once again go through the manual grading subpage.

This time, select Also show questions that have been graded automatically.

manual grading page opened and the hyperlink "also show questions that have been graded automatically" is highlighted

  2. decide how many students you wish to view on a page (optional)
  3. override the points
