Steps to Activating your StormTrac Account 

Before you are able to access your records, email, and Moodle, you will need to activate your StormTrac Account from the Davidson-Davie Homepage (opens in a new window).

  1. Click on Current Students located on the right-hand side of the navigation bar and then StormTrac Login from the Online Tools section.
  2. You will be directed to enter your username and your temporary password.  Your username will be followed by @davidsondavie.edu. This is also your Davidson-Davie email address.  Enter your temporary password and click Sign In.

Username:

  1. First letter of your first name (lowercase)
  2. Your last name (lowercase) 
  3. The last four digits of your student identification number (ID). 

You can find your student ID number in your Davidson-Davie acceptance letter

Example: 

John Smith + ID Number 1234567+@davidsondavie.edu = jsmith4567@davidsondavie.edu

Temporary Password:

  1. First two letters of your last name 
    1. Capitalize the first letter 
    2. lowercase the second letter
  2. Birthday: MMDDYYYY

Example: 

Last Name Smith+January 8, 1980= Sm01081980

With your first sign in, you will be prompted to set up a multi factor authentication.  



Setting up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) the First Time with your Phone

You will be prompted to set up MFA the first time you log into your StormTrac account, email, Starfish or Moodle. 

  1. When you see the screen stating "more information required," you will want to set up MFA by selecting Next.  You will be redirected to the Microsoft Authenticator page.  You can download the application or select a different method.  Setting up MFA with your phone is easiest. screenshot of the page requiring more information for multi factor authentication to be created
  2. When directed, you will want to select I want to set up a different method.Arrow pointing to "I want to set up a different method" on the Microsoft Authenticator app screen.
  3. Click on the dropdown menu (step 1) and select phone (step 2).  Drop down menu is labeled as the first step and "phone" is selected for the second step to choose a different a different method of authentication.
  4. Choose to receive a text message, SMS, or phone call to verify MFA.  Two different options for using the phone for authentication is highlighted in a blue box.  The options include "receive a code" and "call me."
  5. Confirm your verification.  You should receive a verification message based on your delivery preference.  
    1. If you select “receive a code,” you will receive a text message and be taken to a new screen to enter your code.
    2. If you select “call me,” you will receive a phone call and be directed to press the pound (#) key to confirm your identity. 
  6. Once you have either entered your code or pressed the # key, you will be able to click Next and then Done on the confirmation page. You’re all set!
