TABLE OF CONTENTS

YuJa has an app that you can download to your Apple or Android phone. This app allows users to record videos, upload videos from your phone to YuJa, and access your videos. If you post your videos to your course channel, students can also access those videos from the app. See the section on Channels below for more information.

Sign into the app

Once you download the free app, use the following instructions to sign in to your YuJa account.

  2. Give the video a title and select a folder in which to store the recording within your YuJa video platform.

Channels

The channels option in the app will allow students to view videos from your classes if you have posted videos to your course channel. When students click on the Channels option at the bottom of the screen, they will see folders for classes that they are in and, if you use this function, clicking on the folder will give them access to class videos. Channels are like playlists that you can organize with folders just like you do your My Media files. If you post videos to Moodle without adding them to your channel, students can only access those videos through Moodle and not through the app. To learn more about using your Course Channel, read our Course Channels tutorial.

Benefits of this app

  • You can easily make videos anywhere using your phone and upload to YuJa (lab experiments, tours, first hand experiences, special events, real world scenarios)

  • Students who don’t have regular access to a computer can make videos with their phones for assignments, projects, presentations, etc. and upload them to YuJa where they can later be shared or uploaded to Moodle

Limitations of this app

  • You can’t record multiple screens or powerpoint presentations when recording in the app; you can only record what your camera can capture

  • You can’t edit videos in the app

  • You can’t upload videos to Moodle from the app

  • Students can only access class videos that you’ve published to your Course Channel
