Import
Importing content in Moodle is basically how you copy course content from one course to another. To do this you must have to have teacher level access to that course in order to copy content from it.

Course Import - Written Directions
Course imports are a great way to reuse course content. Import early and try to import everything you need at one time when possible. Additional imports should be done with caution to avoid duplicate imports of your question bank, which can cause issues in your course.
- Navigate to your new course (or the course you want to import content TO) inside of Moodle at moodle.davidsondavie.edu
- In your course menu bar, select More and then Course Reuse
- Make sure the small drop down menu on this page has Import selected
- Select or search for the course that you want to import content FROM and click Continue
- Choose your Import settings - click the radio buttons (blue check box) to select/deselect any items on this page then click Next.
- Important Note: If you have already imported your question bank once, make sure to deselect Question bank during subsequent/additional imports to that course later on. Multiple question bank imports can duplicate items and cause loading problems in your course.
- Choose the sections and course items you would like to import on the Include page - click the radio buttons (blue check box) to select/deselect any items on this page then click Next
- Important Note: If you deselect any graded items during your first import, you may need to reconfigure your gradebook after importing!
- Double check your choices on the Confirmation screen. Click Previous to go back and make changes if needed or click Perform import to continue.
- Wait patiently on the page for the course import to finish loading. Do not navigate to other websites or Moodle pages while it loads and do NOT click "Perform import" more than one time!
- When it has finished loading, click Continue. If there are any error messages that pop up or if the process runs slowly or gets stuck, please send an email to edtech@davidsondavie.edu
- Check your course to make sure the content imported as expected.
- If you would like to move items around in your course after import, turn on Edit mode (top right corner of the screen) and click the three dots to the right side of any item to move items in your course OR open your course menu on the left side of your screen to click and drag the arrows beside any item to move it to a new place inside your course.
