Overview

There are multiple ways to add YuJa content to your Moodle page using a text box, the URL resource tool, or the YuJa external tool. Read the options below to find an option that works best for you. Note: If you want to add a video quiz that connects to your Moodle gradebook, you will need to use the YuJa external tool. See our tutorial on posting video quizzes for more information.


Using the Moodle Text Editor 

Using the Moodle text editor, you can embed a video directly from YuJa, use an HTML embed code, or add a link.

YuJa Media Chooser

You can click on the YuJa icon in the Moodle Text Editor to bring up your list of videos from YuJa. From there, you can 

  • select a video or playlist to embed. 
  • record a video to be embedded into the text box. 
  • embed multiple videos as a playlist.

Embed Code

To get an embed code, hover over the video and click on "More". This brings up a new window.

In this window, 

  1. choose "Links" from the menu on the left side 
  2. copy the embed code by clicking the "duplicate" icon 

Once you have the embed code, return to your Moodle course and use the HTML icon (</>)  in the text box to change your text to HTML code and then paste the code. Click the HTML icon again to return to normal text.


Using the URL Resource tool

If you want to add a URL link that will embed the video into a Moodle page, you can use the URL Resource Tool in Moodle. 

  1. To obtain the URL link for a video, hover over the video and click on "More". This brings up a new window. The pop-up box that appears when you choose "More". The links tab and the duplicate number are marked with numbers that correlate with their description in the text.
  2. In this window, 
    1. choose "Links" from the menu on the left side 
    2. copy the Direct Link by clicking the "duplicate" icon
  3. In your Moodle course, choose "Add an activity or resource" to bring up the list of available Moodle activities.
  4. Scroll down and select the button for "URL".The URL tool icon in the Moodle chooser
  5. Give the post a name.
  6. Paste the URL link into the "External URL" box. 
  7. Save changes.


Using the YuJa External Tool

If you want a grade attached to your video, use this method. See our tutorial about posting video quizzes for more information.

  1. In your Moodle course, select "Add an activity or resource" to bring up the list of available Moodle activities.
  2. Scroll down and select the button for YuJa.Yuja external tool icon in Moodle
  3. On the page that opens, click the button that says "Select content" to open the YuJa media chooser and find the video or video quiz you want to embed. 
  4. Click on the video.
  5. Under "Privacy", make sure all 3 boxes are checked.
  6. Under "Grade", enter a number of points or a percentage. 
  7. Save changes.
