Note: You can find a video version of these instructions at the end of this article.

There are two main ways to share a video with your students: publish to a course channel or add a video directly to your Moodle course. If you add your videos to your course channel, it creates a playlist for the students in that course so that past and current videos can be easily located, watched, and rewatched.

Steps

  • To publish a video to a course channel, hover over the video and click on the option for “Publish”.

The options that appear when a mouse hovers over a video. A cursor is highlighting the word "Publish".

  • In the dialog box that appears,

    • Look under “All Channels” to find your courses listed.

    • Choose the course or courses to which the video should be added.

    • Use “Additional Options” to add dates during which the video will be visible on the course channel.

    • Choose “Select” to finalize your choice.

  • This video is now available to be viewed on that course’s channel.

  • Make sure you post a link to the course channel so your students will be able to access the videos on that channel.

  • To get the direct link to the channel, click on (1) “More Actions” and then (2) “Get Link”
