Note: You can find a video version of these instructions at the end of this article.
There are two main ways to share a video with your students: publish to a course channel or add a video directly to your Moodle course. If you add your videos to your course channel, it creates a playlist for the students in that course so that past and current videos can be easily located, watched, and rewatched.
Steps
- To publish a video to a course channel, hover over the video and click on the option for “Publish”.
- In the dialog box that appears, - Look under “All Channels” to find your courses listed.
- Choose the course or courses to which the video should be added.
- Use “Additional Options” to add dates during which the video will be visible on the course channel.
- Choose “Select” to finalize your choice.

- This video is now available to be viewed on that course’s channel.
- Make sure you post a link to the course channel so your students will be able to access the videos on that channel.
- To get the direct link to the channel, click on (1) “More Actions” and then (2) “Get Link”
Quick Tips
- To publish several items at a time to a channel, hold the ctrl key while selecting the videos then click “More options” at the top of the screen. From the drop-down list, choose “Bulk Publish”.
