Introduction
H5P is a free tool you can use to create interactive and engaging content for your students that can be great for presenting lecture material and knowledge checks to guide students through the course as they learn the material while also integrating into Moodle and the gradebook. If you are interested in creating H5P content, but are not sure where to start, visit the H5P’s tutorials page first. Here, you can explore all of the H5P options, examples of what each activity looks like, and how to create one yourself. But before you begin creating, it is recommended that you read H5P’s article on accessibility to ensure you are selecting an accessible activity.

Sharing your H5P Content with Students
In your course with Edit Mode on, click Add Activity or Resource where you would like to add your H5P content.
Select the blue H5P icon.
Complete all the required elements, title and package file. Optionally, consider refining the Grade details and Completion Conditions to add a reminder date to the activity as well.
Title - the name your activity
Package File - click the + icon (screenshot below) to add your H5P activity, then select Content Bank. Click your activity and then click Select this file. Alternatively, if you have your H5P file downloaded to your computer, you can also drag and drop the file directly into the Package file box.
Grade - Click to expand the Grade section. If this activity will not be graded select Grade Type "None" in the dropdown menu. If it is graded, you can choose a point value or grading scale and a Grade Category. Expanding the Attempt Options sections lets you further define your Grading method.
Completion Conditions - There is no due date option for H5P, but you can use options in the Restrict Access section or Completion Conditions (check the bubble for Add requirements) to enforce availability rules or Set a reminder in Timeline to provide date for when the activity should be completed.
Click Save and return to course or Save and display

You have now successfully created and shared H5P content for your students!
Tips! Preview mode: If you click on your H5P activity in your instructor role, you will receive a preview message. However, your students will not see this message. Download your H5P files: You can visit your Content Bank and download your H5P files, download activity files from the H5P website, or use downloaded H5P activities made by other users. Having a copy of these files on your computer could be helpful if you want to keep them in a safe place for use on other platforms later.
